A savior from my basement
Updated: May 23, 2020
Early is this epidemic when the schools were first closed. I refused to let my kids sit still and not learn anything all day. I will still working at this point, so at the end of the day I would school my kids using anything I could find. I have a 13 year old and a 7 year old, respectively. So needless to say, this was a challenge and was not welcomed by the students! I assigned books to read, printed out worksheets, emailed teacher for help. A week later I was home due to CoVID-19 and this bad boy came up from the basement. The marker board. Previously used for ping pong tournaments and minute to win it scoring, it is now on my dining room floor.

I filled it all out to organize my kids and let them know what was expected of them each day. We needed something to hold us accountable. I realize not everyone does, but this works for us and I figured it might work for someone else too. Who knows, maybe we might hang it up and keep using it when we are released back into the real world in a few weeks. But for now it provides some organization, responsibility, and sanity. Each kid has a column to keep track of their Zoom school times and then the middle part is for responsibilities for both of them for the days. So far, so good.
